1. I’m not doing Christmas anymore. It’s official. I’ve decided.

Don’t get me wrong. It’s not that I’m Scrooge or anti-seasonal. No, I have my Christmas records and I enjoy the lights and the sounds and all my warm sweaters and hot chocolate. I believe strongly in giving but I don’t need a holiday to give me a reason to do it. The whole marketing agendas this time of year make me want to puke. I can’t even go into a mall right now. They have successfully persuaded and conditioned you into thinking that you must give presents so that the people in your family will know that you love them. What have we done to our country?

And now a bit of a rant: I can’t find a reason for children to get a shitload of presents on one day a year turning them into greedy, consumer-driven maniacs! On top of that, they are being taught that it’s on a merit based system (the naughty or nice list, better watch out, better think twice). On top of that, it’s based on some mythical obese man in a red costume doing a B&E (for all the dane cook fans) in the middle of the night going from house to house, committing several break-ins while riding atop flying reindeer!!! On top of all that nonsense, we are supposed to remember the death and birth of a mangod that morbidly sacrificed his life for sins that we were born into committing!!

I feel stupid for ever having been apart of it. I am unplugging my brain from managed society. Only free thinkers are allowed entrance now. Please please please think before you engage.
